Canucks Players In World Juniors

Team Sweden Announces Roster for World Juniors Featuring Three Canucks Prospects

Canucks Prospects Set to Represent Sweden

Team Sweden has unveiled their roster for the upcoming World Juniors tournament, and it features three highly touted Vancouver Canucks prospects. Jonathan Lekkerimaki, Elias Pettersson, and Arvid Costmar will all join the Swedish team as they attempt to capture their first gold medal since 2012.

Lekkerimaki Leads Sweden to Semifinals

Lekkerimaki, who was selected 15th overall by the Canucks in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, has been one of the most impressive players for Sweden during the tournament. The 19-year-old winger leads the team in scoring with three goals and five assists in five games, and he helped guide Sweden to a 3-2 victory over Czechia in the semifinals.

Pettersson and Costmar Make Strong Impressions

Pettersson, a defenseman, and Costmar, a forward, have also played well for Sweden. Pettersson, who shares the same name as the Canucks' star center, has played a key role on Sweden's power play, while Costmar has provided valuable depth scoring with two goals in the tournament.

Canucks Prospects Eye Gold Medal

The three Canucks prospects will now have the opportunity to help Sweden reach the top of the podium. Sweden will face Finland in the gold medal game, and they will be looking to win their first gold medal since 2012. The game will be played on Friday, January 5th, at 7:00 PM EST.
