Patriots to Open 2024 Season against Bengals

After a Disappointing 2023 Campaign, Patriots Overhaul Roster

Team Set to Take on Cincinnati in Season Opener

The New England Patriots will kick off their 2024 season with a matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, the team announced today. The game will mark the first time the Patriots have faced the Bengals in the regular season since 2018.

The Patriots are coming off a disappointing 2023 season, finishing with a 6-11 record and missing the playoffs for the second time in three years. As a result, the team made a number of significant roster changes this offseason, including the release of several veteran players.

The Patriots are expected to rely heavily on a young core of players in 2024, led by quarterback Mac Jones and wide receiver Tyquan Thornton. The team also added a number of veteran free agents this offseason, including cornerback Jonathan Jones and running back Damien Harris.

The Bengals, meanwhile, are coming off a successful 2023 season, finishing with a 10-7 record and making the playoffs as a wild card team. The team is led by quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase, who are both considered to be among the best young players in the NFL.

The Patriots will open the 2024 season at home against the Bengals on September 9th. The game will be a rematch of last year's Week 16 matchup, which the Patriots won 23-20.
